Transport: There is a bus service that runs past the apartment complex that will take you to Perth and surrounding suburbs. The unit is situated a short walk from the ferry terminal, from which the ferry departs every 20 minutes to Perth City. The trip to the Barracks Street ferry terminal takes about 7 minutes. From the Barracks Street terminal, there is a free CAT bus service which takes you to all the city landmarks and places of interest. A taxi to or from Perth Airport takes about 15 minutes and costs around $20 AUD, depending on the time of day. [Top]
Wining & Dining: The South Perth restraunt precinct is situated just a stones throw from the apartment and would cater for all your dining needs, from pub meals, to asian and italian cuisine and full à la carte dining. [Top]
Attractions: Perth Zoo: Just a 3 minute walk from the apartment is Perth Zoo. Perth Zoo features many exhibits. The beautiful african savannah and asian rainforest zone are just two of the many themes featured at the zoo. The zoo opens daily from 9:00am to 5:00pm, and also opens for twilight and evening events at different times during the year. The Foreshore: The South Perth foreshore is packed with many features, from just strolling the paths along the rivers edge, to activities for the more advneturous, including para-sailing, jet ski hire, water skiing and surf cat hire. Shopping: The Perth CBD encompasses the Hay Street, Murray Street malls as well as St Georges Terrace, with several arcades connecting the three of these, including Perth's famous London Court. In this grid of malls and arcades, you will find all the major department stores and dozens of specialty shops to cater for every need. Day Trips: Rottnest Island - A trip to WA's famous Rottnest Island is a must for all visitors. The ferry departs every day at 8:45am, 9:45am and 2:00pm, from Barracks St Jetty via Fremantle. The trip takes about 1 hour and 45 minutes. The return ferry departs daily from Rottnest Island to Barracks St Jetty at 4:00pm only. Same day returns cost $60 per adult. Swan Valley Wine Cruises - For the lover of fine wines, this cruise takes you on the riverboat "Queen of the Valley", with a buffet lunch. This is followed by a coach tour of the Swan Valley, including the famous Houghton Winery, and the boutique Riverbank Estate. Many extras included. The cruise departs Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 11:00am from the Barracks St Jetty, returning at approximately 5:00pm. The cruise costs $95 per adult. [Top]
